AZ1000 Office Server

The AZ1000 is a standalone office server offering "business in a box" functionality.   It provides email, calendaring, address books, web-hosting, file-storage, collaboration tools and user/group management, all through an intuitive web interface. As well as this standard functionality, it also offers an internal secure web-messaging server.

One of the many benefits of choosing the AZ1000 is that user management is greatly simplified. All user information is accessed and stored in a single user directory, enabling easy administration for the client. We also understand the need for interoperable systems, and the core technologies implemented in the AZ1000 are industry standards.

Core Packages

• SAMBA File Server holds your important documents, accessible to all authorised users from any computer (Windows, Mac, Linux etc.) and keeps them safely and securely backed up.

• WILDFIRE Jabber Server provides your organisation with an instant messaging network, enabling logging of conversations and multiple text-conferencing utilities.

• SyncML support is still in development, but can enable wireless synchronisation for your mobile phone, through a GPRS Connection. Please check the device matrix to show what is currently compatible.

• LDAP Directories allow many extra packages to be integrated with the barebones setup, to facilitate the continuation the single-sign-on setup.

• Extensible: Whilst the server has been setup to cope with all the basic needs for an small to medium sized organisation, we can modify the server to suit your business needs.

• Open Source: There are thousands of arguments for using Open Source technologies. Open Source gives an organisation more control, allowing software to be tailored around an organisation's specific needs.

• Eco-Friendly: The server can be offered as a software only solution for your organisation, or we can provide you with the physical server. We have a low-power rack-mount server and low power midi-tower which will both support the server for your organisation.

Zimbra Collaboration Suite server

In addition to our hosted Zimbra service (where customers pay per account), we install and support dedicated Zimbra servers. 
Zimbra offers:

• Enterprise email, including features such as "out of office", shared folders and delegation

• Shared calendars: view other calendars (if permitted), see busy/free times and easily book meetings.

• Shared contacts

• Upload documents to access from anywhere or share with others, along with version control (easily retrieve old versions).

• A host of plugin "zimlets" add more functionality where needed.

• High availability and backup options

• Your choice of email client including Outlook, Thunderbird, Entourage, Apple Mail and the Zimbra web client.

Pricing for Zimbra depends on individual needs.  The Open Source version has no licence fees for the software, so you pay for the server to run it on, plus our time to install and configure.  The network edition has some additional features (e.g. online backups and connectors for Outlook and Apple Mail) and has an annual licence fee.

Virtual servers

For as little as £27+VAT per month you can have your own virtual server, managed by us in a state-of-the-art data centre.  We'll install Linux at no extra cost and can help you implement your applications of choice.  From the outside, a virtual server looks like you've got your own, complete Linux system, not shared with anyone else.

This gives you far more flexibility and control than can be offered on a standard shared web environment (where your actions are limited to avoid affecting other customers).  It's also much cheaper than a full physical server hosted in a data centre: one physical server can host several virtual servers, so giving better value for money.
